Queensland Health provides the School Dental Service offering treatment to children from four years of age through until completion of Grade 10. Medical history / consent forms are issued to children and must be completed and returned prior to children receiving an examination. After the examination parents / guardians will receive a statement of treatment needs which must be signed prior to the commencement of treatment.
The team providing this service consists of a Dentist, School Dental Therapists and Dental Assistants. Dental Therapists working under the direction of a Dentist will carry out most of the dental procedures.
