Early childhood development program

The Early Childhood Development Program provides support for children from birth to prep age, who have been identified with special needs.

The children, who attend our program where possible, also attend a regular kindy or childcare centre.

Parents also receive support from one another in coming to terms with the day to day implications of caring for a young child with special needs.

The approach is a multi-disciplinary one where teachers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech therapists, paediatricians, families and teachers from regular settings help each child to develop to their potential.  Teachers at the ECDP and parents work together to coordinate treatment that assists the child’s educational progress with these various professionals and plan the most appropriate way to meet each child’s needs.
